NFL NEWS: Buccaneers Sign Daryl Smith

The Tampa Bay Bucs continue to add key free agent pieces to their defense. On Thursday night the Bucs have signed veteran linebacker Daryl Smith.

Smith, 34, started every game the past three seasons for the Ravens. He had three sacks and an interception last season and has been an ironman during his career.

Smith has started 172 of 174 games in his 12 year career. Smith has recorded at least 120 tackles in each of the last three seasons. He will add a much needed presence to the Bucs linebacking group and will be a mentor to young star Kwon Alexander. Smith will start a strong side linebacker
