During the Tampa Bay Buccaneers busy offseason making significant signings, we haven’t heard much from franchise quarterback Jameis Winston since the Bucs fired head coach Lovie Smith and replaced him with offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter.
During a short interview Thursday with 620-AM, Winston said all the right things in regards to Smith but professed his love for coach Koetter and what he meant to him during his breakout rookie season. Winston said he was blessed to have played one year from Lovie.
He is excited about being able to stay with Koetter. Winston said “Coack K brought swag back to the offense. We got things going early and often and I’m very happy to have him as our head coach.” Winston respects the kind of style that Koetter runs. ‘
He also described himself as elated to have running back Doug Martin back in the fold. Winston believes keeping coach Koetter played a big part in the return of Martin.
It looks like Koetter has all the respect and praise from its franchise quarterback and many others. The Bucs have high expectations heading into the 2016 season.
