On Friday, Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker died one day after being critically injured in a dirt bike accident in Liberty City, Florida.
Walker was heading west on Northwest 75th street on his dirt bike when he collided with a Ford Escape. His bike had no lights and he was wearing dark clothing with no helmet.
Doctors said there was a lot of head trauma and they tried to reduce the swelling but his brain went too long without oxygen. Walker, 23, was a fourth round pick last season out of Texas Southern.
He played in 8 games during his rookie season. The Ravens were planning on giving Walker more playing time this upcoming season.
“Tray was a young man with a good and kind heart”, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said in a statement. The Baltimore Ravens and the whole NFL are grieving the loss of a special young man.
